JUSTICE & MERCY MINISTRIES

The Evangelical Covenant Church takes seriously our call to practice solidarity with all who are vulnerable, marginalized, and oppressed as our biblical witness calls us to do, while paying special attention to the anti-black racism that has created recent increased trauma and injustice in our nation.

We pledge to support the dismantling of systemic oppression and racism in our communities through listening, prayer, and action. We must continue this work. It is our foremost desire to link arms with our brothers and sisters in order to reflect how precious each person is in God’s sight, and we trust Jesus Christ to guide us as we seek to humbly listen and respond.

JUSTICE & MERCY MINISTRIES

MONTHLY GATHERING

The Justice & Mercy Gathering exists to cultivate space for the LifeSpring family to learn and pray about injustice and racial inequality so that we are better prepared to listen to the Holy Spirit on how to bring the Kingdom of God into our hearts and world.

Every 3rd Thursday evening, we meet in some capacity to focus on our topic of the month, which can be anything from immigration, to education inequality, to Black History month.

We often meet at church for a time of conversation and learning. Some times we will be off site or doing various outreach opportunities. Specifics of the month's gathering are always communicated in the monthly newsletter.

MONTHLY NEWSLETTER

This monthly e-mail newsletter gives resources on the specific justice topic(s) that will be covered at the gathering as well as invitations to upcoming Justice & Mercy Ministry opportunities. You do not need to attend the gathering to receive the newsletter!

KINGDOM MOSAIC COHORT

As the hands and feet of Christ, we want to be authentic signposts for God’s love, mercy & justice in a world that desperately needs it! This 5-part Bible Study curated by our denomination explores biblical justice, racial righteousness and the mosaic kingdom of God. Whether these themes are brand new to you or you’ve been exploring them for years, this group is for you! This experience is cohort style with materials to engage in preparation for each meeting. Interested? E-mail Pastor Elyse to find out when the next cohort will launch & to get your name on the interest list.
